Navel Orange with Marmalade, Farmstead Cheese, Toast, Basil and Killer Pecans

Get your party off to a stylish start with our killer canapé. Don’t know what that is? Here’s the definition: A small piece of bread or pastry with a savoury topping, served with drinks at receptions or formal parties. No need to wait for a formal occasion, this little treat is great anytime. No need to wait for a party, assemble it on some toast and have it for lunch, it’s delicious!

 

INGREDIENTS

1 navel orange, sectioned
2 tablespoons orange marmalade
¼ cup Boursin cheese
20 small basil leaves
¼ cup Killer Pecans, chopped
5 slices whole grain bread
2 tablespoons butter, melted
To taste salt
To taste pepper

 

PREPARATION

  1. Cut the bread into small circles using a round cutter. Place on a baking tray then brush each circle with butter and season with
    salt and pepper. Toast in the oven until crisp and golden brown.
  2. Let the toast circles cool then smear with Boursin cheese, top with an orange section, marmalade, small basil leaf, and chopped Killer Pecans.
  3. Arrange on a platter and serve. Makes about 20.
