Creamy Feta Dip with Smokin’ Pecans and Pita Chips
Ingredients:
2 Cloves Garlic, roasted
3 tbsp. Olive oil, from roasting garlic
8 oz Feta Cheese
4 oz Cream Cheese
1 tsp. Lemon Zest
1 tsp. Lemon Juice
1 tsp. Paprika
1 package Pita Bread
4 oz Butter, melted
Salt and Pepper to taste
4 oz Smokin’ Pecans, chopped
Method:
1. Heat the oven to 350 degrees.
2. Combine the garlic and the olive oil and roast in the oven until the garlic is golden brown
and soft. 10-15 minutes. Let cool to room temp.
3. Combine the garlic, olive oil, feta, cream cheese and lemon juice in a food processor and
whip until smooth. Scoop it into a serving bowl and set aside.
4. Prepare the pita chips. Cut the pita into 1/8ths, then split them so that you get 2 pieces
our of each 1/8. Lay them on a sheet pan with the inside facing up. Repeat with the
remaining pitas.
5. Melt the butter, then brush a little on to each pita. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and
bake in a 350 degree oven until golden brown and crisp. Let cool.
6. Sprinkle the paprika and chopped Smokin’ Pecans over the top of the dip. Serve at
room temperature with the pita chips.
7. This dip also pairs well with Korean Spice Pecans, Killer Pecans or Rosemary Roasted
Pecans.
